SHOCKING SECRET FOR YOU!!! EastEnders reveals Sam Mitchell exit plot amid emotional cancer storyline
EastEnders has revealed the details of Sam Mitchell’s exit plot amid her emotional cancer storyline. Sam returned to Albert Square in December with Kim Medcalf reprising the role.
Following her dramatic return to Walford, Sam became concerned about her health after finding a lump on her breast.
After Jack, Denise and Phil found out that she was hiding her concerns, they encouraged Sam to see a doctor and it was later confirmed that the lump was breast cancer.
Last month, Sam underwent a lumpectomy to treat breast cancer and has been recovering since, while staying with her brother Phil. The character is expected to make a full recovery, meaning she can head back home to Spain.
In scenes set to air next week, Sam prepares to leave the Square to return to Spain, but not before supporting Lily as they mark the anniversary of Martin’s death.

Following a heart-to-heart with Lily, Sam comes to a realisation and recognises how much she needs her family.
“It’s time for Sam to head back to Spain to continue her cancer treatment, after being surrounded by her loved ones over the festive period and in the lead-up to her important lumpectomy,” our EastEnders insider said.
“But first she pays it forward by supporting Lily through a difficult day – will the teen’s wise words change Sam’s mind about leaving?”

Previously speaking about Sam’s cancer diagnosis, executive producer Ben Wadey said the soap worked closely with a charity on the storyline.
He said in a statement: “It was imperative that we worked with Breast Cancer Now to ensure that Sam’s important breast cancer storyline was portrayed sensitively and accurately.
“Sam is initially hesitant to seek medical advice after she finds a lump in her breast but with the support of family and friends, Sam gets help quickly, and because her cancer is caught early, she’s able to successfully remove her breast lump via a lumpectomy in the New Year.”
