This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Thursday, February 12) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.
Evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is determined to traumatise boyfriend Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and tonight’s chilling Coronation Street scenes saw him do just that.
Theo has been abusing Todd since the beginning of their relationship. He has subjected him to verbal, psychological, physical and financial abuse, leaving Todd a shell of the person he used to be.

This week, Theo returned to the cobbles after taking some time away to visit his sick mum.
What should have been a reprieve for Todd was anything but, as Theo left him with no access to any money, and no idea when his partner would be back.
Theo’s return brought further trauma for Todd, as he wasted no time in commenting on his weight and diet, before forcing him to join him for a run, ignoring Todd’s protests that he was still sore from the run he’d been on that morning.

When they got home, Todd was done in, and wanted nothing more than to relax in the bath. However, Theo had other ideas, and told Todd that he wanted to have sex.
Todd tried to argue, but Theo acted hard done by and convinced Todd to go to bed with him.
In today’s episode, Todd had been left with a bruise on his neck, which didn’t escape the notice of Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw), who took every opportunity to mock him for it.
With Todd already feeling vulnerable, he snapped at the teen, only to be interrupted by Gary Windass (Mikey North), who was less than impressed by the altercation.
By the time Todd got home, Gary had already reached out to Theo, who was furious that Todd had humiliated him. He warned him never to do it again, and Todd was quick to defend himself by insisting that he never wanted any of this in the first place.

Theo immediately turned the situation around, making himself out to be the victim as he argued that their sexual encounter had been consensual.
When Todd finally conceded that it was, Theo stuck the knife in by insisting that he wouldn’t have believed it wasn’t anyway, given Todd’s reaction.
To assert further control, Theo ordered Todd to look him straight in the eye and tell him he loved him. Todd did what he was asked, but the look on his face suggested he felt otherwise.
Is Todd reaching breaking point where his relationship is concerned? Could he be set to attempt another escape from Theo?
