Emmerdale star’s death ‘sealed’ after three years in dark Ray Walters twist

Dales villain Ray Walters has been blackmailing Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk in recent episodes

ITV soap viewers will know that April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has been reluctantly dealing drugs for Ray (Joe Absolom) and his evil mother Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), in an attempt to pay off her boyfriend Dylan Penders’ (Fred Kettle) debt.

It was soon revealed that Celia and Ray were also keeping Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) captive on their farm, alongside several other slaves. After Dylan threatened to go to the police, Ray knocked him over with his car. The youngster has only recently woken up from a coma at Hotten General.

April has since opened up to her parents, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), about the struggles she has recently faced, while under Celia and Ray’s command.

Marlon and Rhona have tried to pay Ray off so that he will leave April alone, but the villain has continued to blackmail the panicked couple.

Rhona’s mum, Mary (Louise Jameson), returned to the village this week, with Rhona frantically trying to keep her in the dark about Ray’s involvement in their lives.

During Tuesday’s (December 16) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX, Rhona worried about the consequences of Mary getting too close to the truth about April’s ongoing ordeal.

Later, Ray tried to worm his way into Mary’s good books by helping her carry some heavy shopping. Mary was delighted by his help, and later told Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) that he was a great match for her.

However, Rhona fiercely argued otherwise, making her mother more suspicious that she was keeping something from her. Back at Smithy Cottage, Rhona made her feelings clear as she asked Mary to move out.

Rhona lashed out at her mum on Tuesday

“Now April is back home again, it finally feels like we’re getting back to some kind of normality. April’s happy. But it’s made us realise that she needs her own space, we all do. Sorry mum, I hate doing this. It’s just too crowded when you’re here, it’s too much pressure,” Rhona said, shortly before an argument broke out between the pair.

A frustrated Mary said: “I’m not buying this. You can’t expect me to move out without telling me why. I don’t believe word of it.”

When Rhona suggested she go back to Cornwall or stay with friends in Kent, Mary shouted: “Are you sure that’s far enough? I’ll give NASA a ring, shall I? See if they need somebody on the space station.

“Don’t you dare behave like I’m being unreasonable. I’m the one that’s being asked to leave for no reason. I’m going to ask you again, what’s going on, Rhona?”

Emmerdale fans are concerned for Mary's safety

Instead of telling her mum the truth, Rhona found herself saying something that could wreck their relationship forever.

After watching the scenes, several Emmerdale fans shared their theory that Ray could kill Mary in upcoming scenes to keep Rhona and Marlon under his thumb.

“I’m worried for Mary. Really think she could get caught in the crossfire with Ray,” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page, with another adding: “Yeah I think so too, she could be Ray’s next murder victim.”

A third said: “I feel like they’ve been teasing Mary’s exit for ages now and this seems like it could be the way she leaves,” with another similarly sharing: “God it would be awful if Ray kills Mary before she has time to patch things up with Rhona.”
